2018 February Special Election Endorsements

This February’s special election is all about school funding. There are multiple bonds and levies across all of the school districts that overlap our legislative district and we unanimously voted to endorse all of them. Even with last year’s McCleary fix, our schools are still underfunded. These measures help bridge the gap, funding essentials like special education, early learning and highly capable programs, school nurses, student computers, building new schools, athletic fields, and performing arts spaces, and more. Bonds require 60% approval with a minimum turnout threshold, so make sure your vote is counted! Click on the links below to find out about...

The Stranger enthusiastically endorses the 45th’s nominees for Legislature

This week, The Stranger (Seattle’s most widely read alternative weekly) released its endorsements for the 2014 midterms. The Stranger Election Control Board – or SECB for short – offered ringing endorsements of the 45th’s nominees for Legislature. Here’s what they had to say about Matt Isenhower, Larry Springer, and Roger Goodman: State Senator: Matt Isenhower Sick and tired of Washington State’s ass-backward tax structure? Fed up with the underfunding of education and transit? Us too, as you may have heard, but we gotta wrest back control of the state senate from Republicans to do anything about it. Matt Isenhower—an Amazon...

The 45th’s Endorsements Committee recommends Rick Leo for King County District Court, NE Electoral District, Position 3

The following is the text of the 45th District Democrats Endorsement Committee’s recommendation for King County District Court, Northeast Electoral District, Position 3. All three candidates for this position, individually, qualify for our endorsement, but after much discussion the majority of the committee recommends Rick Leo for this position. Not only has Rick had extensive experience in all three disciplines of defender, prosecutor, and pro tem judge, he gets that he is a public servant and understands that the people coming before him are regular citizens who are often intimidated by the court process. In talking with Rick, it came...
