Special endorsement forum on May 16

If it’s spring, it must be endorsement time!

We will have a special endorsements meeting on Saturday, May 16th, from 1–3:30pm on Zoom. It’s the normal Zoom meeting link, but if you haven’t been to a meeting yet in 2026, register here.

Members and PCOs have the right to vote on endorsements. We experimented last year with recording the meeting and then having electronic voting for about a day after the meeting. We are continuing that process this year. While it is a bit more work to set up, it gives flexibility to people who can’t make it in person and speeds up the meeting by having the voting & tallying done afterwards. You will get your voting credentials and instructions in email 24 hours before the meeting.

Endorsing candidates is one of the most important things that we do as an organization. Especially in cases where multiple Democrats are running, or in non-partisan races where the ballot doesn’t have a party affiliation, our endorsement lets voters know who shares their values.

What offices will we vote to endorse?

Here is the schedule for the day.

What happens in the endorsement forum?

We will visit a list of offices for endorsement. In the first step, candidates eligible for our endorsement may be nominated. Any candidate recommended by either a majority or minority report from the Endorsements Committee will automatically be nominated. Then, any member may nominate additional eligible candidates.

As a second step, once nominations for a given office conclude, we will hear from all nominated candidates. Candidates may speak live in the meeting, send a representative to speak on their behalf, or offer a pre-recorded video.

After candidate speeches, we will open the floor for debate by members. Once debate concludes, we are finished with that office in the forum. Voting will happen via online ballot outside of the forum.

Please refer to our endorsement procedures for all of the details.

Have a friend who wants to get more involved?

This is a great starting point for people to see the value we bring as an organization. New members must have joined by May 9th in order to vote on endorsements at the special meeting. Tell your friend how to become a member.

Hope to see you there!
