The General Meeting of the 45th District Democrats of Washington State washeld online on June 3 at 7:01 pm, with Chair Aaron Schrader and Candice Bradleyas secretary pro tem. Presentations Kamil Zaidi (kamilxaydee@gmail.com; 425-979-9183), talked about increasing meaningful engagement with local tribes. Sam Cho, Commissioner of the Port of Seattle, presented slides focusing on the sustainable airport master plan. Kaira Havens, in the national pollical update, discussed the Citizens’ Impeachment Slush Fund. Stacey Doerr reviewed the Endorsement Forum results and directed members to the website. Special endorsement forum on May 16
If it’s spring, it must be endorsement time! We will have a special endorsements meeting on Saturday, May 16th, from 1–3:30pm on Zoom. It’s the normal Zoom meeting link, but if you haven’t been to a meeting yet in 2026, register here. Members and PCOs have the right to vote on endorsements. We experimented last year with recording the meeting and then having electronic voting for about a day after the meeting. We are continuing that process this year. Revision to endorsement procedures Summary This document summarizes revisions to the 45 th LD’s Endorsement Procedures. Most revisions clarify wording or delete a few redundancies. The more meaningful revisions are as follows: Added the purpose of the endorsement process (Overview, Paragraph 2). Clarified endorsement timing and importance of the due dates for Voter’s Pamphlet submission due date (Rule 1, Sections 1 and 2). Added that candidates are deemed ineligible for a 45 th endorsement if they do not respond to or ignore an invitation to interview (Rule IV, Section 4).
