Effective Date March 3, 2018
The 45th District Democrats is a place where people of shared values come to advocate for public policy and to participate in our democratic system.
Participation in the political process is inherently public. Disclosure laws often require the disclosure of your name and occupation and the amount given, in cash or in kind, for contributions to campaigns and other political organizations.
We collect information in a variety of ways. Our collection sites and methods include, but are not limited to, MailChimp, Facebook, ActBlue, Action Network, Hustle, Twitter, SurveyMonkey, SignUpGenius, Google, WordPress and its third-party suppliers, VoteBuilder, CallFire, and others. We also collect information via paper means, through participation in surveys, in-person conversations, and petition drives. You may decline to share information with us.
We collect and use information from public voter registration databases. You cannot limit our access to voter registration information. You can notify us that you do not want to be contacted and we will make reasonable efforts to remove you from our contact lists.
Collection of Your Personal Information
When you communicate with the 45th District Democrats, we may ask for your name, address, telephone number, email address, and other information. We use the information you provide to send you news and updates. We work closely with Democratic candidates, parties, and allied organizations and may share information with them, and they may contact you.
When you sign on a petition, we treat your name, city, state, and any comments as public information. We may share petition information with local, state, and national leaders. We may also make your comments, along with your city and state, available to the press and public online.
When you contribute money, services, or in-kind items, under state election law, we may be required to disclose to the Public Disclosure Commission the following information about you: name, address, amount of contribution, date of contribution, employer, and occupation. For more information on the PDC, visit their website at pdc.wa.gov.
Federal law may require us to collect and report your name, address, employer, occupation, and the amount of your contribution. Currently, we are required by federal law to collect and report the name, mailing address, occupation, and name of employers of individuals whose contributions exceed $200 in a calendar year to the Federal Election Commission. These records are available to the public. However, they cannot be used by other organizations for fundraising. For additional information, visit the FEC website at fec.gov.

We do this by using remarketing or similar audience features through services such as the Facebook pixel, Google AdWords, and/or DoubleClick’s pixel. Those third-party vendors place cookies in your browser and track your activities across a variety of sites. They also deliver ads to you based on your interests across a variety of sites. We provide those companies the personal information they need to deliver the service.
We may be asked to disclose personal information when required by law, such as when we have a good-faith belief that such action is necessary to comply with an appropriate law enforcement investigation, current judicial proceeding, court order, or legal process served on our website.
