Fundraising Committee

The fundraising committee is responsible for raising money, most of which is currently spent on voter guides (regarding endorsed candidates, for example)  for the voters in our legislative district.  However, if we are able to raise more money, we can aspire to do more things!

  • Help identify potential donors, researching and finding individuals or groups who may be willing to contribute to the party for the 45th legislative district.
  • Contact potential donors (e.g. established Democrats, whose information is often available in databases we use) through phone calls, emails, or in-person meetings to discuss the legislative district’s fundraising campaign goals and funding needs.
  • Event planning: work with (or potentially as!) the event planning committee to organize and host fundraising events such as dinners, rallies, or meet-and-greets with candidates.
  • Maintain relationships with existing donors and keep them informed about fundraising campaign progress.
  • Ensure all fundraising activities comply with local, state, and federal campaign finance laws.
  • Track donations and donor information accurately.
  • Potentially manage other volunteers involved in fundraising efforts.
  • Potentially do public speaking, representing the fundraising campaign at events and articulating its message to potential donors.
  • Work with fundraising campaign leadership to establish fundraising targets and strategies to meet them.
  • And, if we can secure it, use fundraising software and databases to manage donor information and track progress.
