Dear Senators and Representatives,

I am writing to express my Solidarity with you after the attack against our democracy and urge you to proceed with the impeachment and removal of President Donald Trump.

I am relieved that our Washington state congressional delegation is unharmed and am proud of the resiliency you displayed by returning to the chamber and certifying the election results on the same day as this attack. What began as a horrific day ended with a measure of hope.

Donald Trump fomented and incited an attack on our democracy. He is not fit to serve the remainder of his term as president or hold elected office in the future.

I urge you to proceed with impeachment to support Representative Cori Bush’s resolution to hold the other instigators of sedition accountable by expelling them from Congress. Senators Ted Cruz and Josh Hawley — as well as every member of the Senate and House who objected to the vote certification — promoted Donald Trump’s incendiary lies about our election’s integrity, creating a pretext for violence that endangered lives and undermined our democracy. Even after the attack, they continue to promote the same debunked conspiracy theories they helped circulate.

Thank you for your time, and for your continued leadership amidst this national crisis.

In Solidarity,
