  1. Call to order at 7:01 by 45th District Chair Aaron S.
  2. Land acknowledgement.

  • Quorum achieved: 15 PCOs present (12 required).
  1. Consent agenda (Aaron S.) Consent Agenda approved with the addition of Legislative Action (Ken A) added to May General Meeting Agenda, Committee Reports.          
  • Adoption: May General Meeting Agenda.
  • Adoption: April 2, 2025 General Meeting Minutes.
  1. Remarks from elected officials
  • Stuart Ashford, speaking for Kim Schrier M.D., Washington Congressional District 8. Update from Congress including impacts of administration actions and Representative Schrier’s responses. Questions.

  • Lake Washington School District board report by Director Lindsey Yocum.
  • Slide presentation overview schools: Sources of funding; Funding Gaps; Legislative Session Recap; impact on LWSD budget and program cuts. Questions.

  1. Membership invitation to pull candidates off the endorsement slate. No candidates pulled by the membership. Discussion.

  3. Call for debate. No debate. Vote: 29 in favor, 0 opposed. Motion Passes.
  4. Endorsed for 2025 election by the 45th Legislative District: Rod Dembowski King County Council District 1; Sarah Perry, King County Council District 3; Ryan Calkins, Port Commissioner, Position 1; Hamdi Mohamed, Port Commissioner, Position 3; Toshiko Hasegawa, Port Commissioner, Position 4; Judge John Olson, Kirkland Municipal Judge; Approve: King County Parks Levy, Proposition 1.          
  1. Recommend PCO appointments (Nicholas M)        
  1. Please apply for appointment of your unrepresented precinct this biennium.
  2. Lauren Hall-Stigerts affirms she is a Democrat and volunteers for appointment as PCO for KIR 45-3678. Vote: 14 favor, 0 opposed. Lauren Hall Stigerts  members, PCO VOTE: 14 favor, none opposed. Recommendation of Lauren Hall-Stigerts as PCO KIR-3678 approved by the 45th Legislative District PCOs.

  1. Report. Motions approved and under consideration reviewed concerning audit committee (passed), September meeting location change (failed), changes to the state delegate selection affirmative action plan (under consideration), caucuses (discussion).  Andrew V affirmed and added his perspective to Melissa’s report. 
  1. King County Democrats Central Committee (KCDCC) Executive Board Representatives: Report on the KCD march meeting.
