A message from our Chair, Linda Jenkins

Thank you for the vote of confidence in my ability to Chair the 45th. I am looking forward to continuing the excellent leadership of Dave Williams.

I am in the process of performing my first role as Chair of appointing Committee Chairs. I will be sharing their faces at the next General Meeting on Wednesday, February 3, 2021 – please do not forget to pre-register to get the Zoom link.

We are all volunteers, and together, we can make a difference in our community. Meanwhile, there is work to be done, and I need your help:

One of my roles last year was working on letter writing to get out the vote. I am attaching here a letter that is ready to be signed and printed by yourselves; addresses included; to our Senators and Representatives – a handwritten message in the corner to each would be the icing on the cake!

Please print out and snail mail or copy and paste and e-mail. We need our elected officials to know we care about the decisions they make on our behalf. We believe in their governance.

I’m sharing below a few photos taken while we were in Olympia at the Washington State Capitol for the 2020 meeting of the Electoral College. In one of the photos is former 45th District Democrats Chair Martin Chaney, who cast the 1st Congressional District’s vote for Joe Biden and Kamala Harris. I served as the alternate elector.

In Solidarity,

Linda Jenkins (she/her)

45th LD Madam Chair
