2019 45th District Reorg—What to Expect and How to Help

A reorganization meeting runs a bit differently than a typical membership meeting, including specific times when voting is restricted to specific groups. Because of this, you will see some differences in how people are signed in, credentialed, and where they sit. Here are some of the differences you can expect to see: Sign In and Credentials Everyone attending the meeting is required to sign in. There will be three categories with specific credentials and, if appropriate, ballot packets. The categories are as follows: Current Elected PCOs (Precinct Committee Officers) Filed to run for PCO in May 2018 and were elected in the...

Last chance to GOTV for Manka Dhingra (D)

Ballots are due this Tuesday by 8 p.m.—we need your help to get every last vote we can for Manka and progressives all the way down the ballot! In off-off years like this, especially in the primaries, a handful of votes really can be the difference between candidates who value public schools, aim to address climate change, and support vulnerable communities advancing and candidates who, well, don’t! If you haven’t voted yet, check out our endorsements and helpful links for submitting your ballot. We’ll wait here. All done? Filled out, signed, and turned your ballot in? Great! 2017 Reorg Meeting Agenda

One month from today, we will be reorganizing the 45th District Democrats for 2017-2018. The reorganization will take place at the same time and in the same venue that we hold our regular monthly membership meetings: 7 PM on the first Wednesday of the month (January 4th), at the Old Redmond Schoolhouse Community Center. Please plan to attend our reorganization meeting – especially if you are a precinct committee officer, because you are the representative of dozens of Democratic households in your neighborhood. If you’re not there, your neighbors end up going unrepresented. As the name suggests, the purpose of...

We are also grateful to our speakers: Dave Ross, our master of ceremonies, U.S. Representatives Suzan DelBene...

Two opportunities to support Move King County Now (Proposition 1)

Friends, as you may recall from our last meeting, there is a critical transportation measure on the upcoming April 22nd special election ballot. A coalition of progressive organizations is working together on the Move King County Now campaign to pass Proposition 1. The 45th has also officially endorsed this transportation package. Due to funding shortfalls, King County Metro is facing devastating cuts to bus service — 74 routes would be eliminated and another 100+ would be reduced. These cuts will harm students, seniors, workers, and families across the Eastside who rely on the bus system. Losing these routes will also...
